Wrongbird, Nolo, Montclair (duo)

Owing a debt to 60's classic rock and roots, Wrongbird is a band from Austin, Texas with the energy of organized chaos and an unstoppable candor. Having spent most of his life writing and performing as solo artist, frontman Eric Baker eventually made his way to Austin, Texas where he released his first full length album Epitome of the Opposite under the name Wrongbird in Fall 2016. This album explored Baker’s desire to make peace with the messy world in which he found himself. Upon supporting this release and experiencing the Austin live scene, Eric wanted to refocus his project towards the more collaborative experience of a band. Concurrently, producer and guitarist Michael Blake was working as a freelance producer and songwriter in Austin. Through a mutual friend, Baker and Blake met up in January of 2018 to start working on what would become Wrongbird's first EP, Who Is Wrongbird?. This EP was a bold and energetic declaration of “here we are!” with themes of persistence and being a fish out of water. Mr. April, the lead single off their second full length album Don’t Quote Me on That, releases on April 14, 2023. Marking a joyful new direction for the band, Mr. April was produced entirely in a home studio with the intention of fostering a free creative environment to create their ideal indie pop tune. The album as a whole pulls out all the stops with string sections, rich vocal harmonies, horn choirs, electronic elements, and the sincerest songwriting from Baker and Blake.
