Thick Heavy Clouds is singer/songwriter Casey’s response to the suicide of his friends. During his bereavement period he rediscovered his passion for music and hopes that Thick Heavy Clouds can inspire in others the same feelings he has learned in his pursuit of musicianship. Life can always be beautiful when people love you, and when you learn to love yourself, you learn to never doubt that.
The name Thick Heavy Clouds was chosen because when heard, everyone conjures up their own unique image in their head. Yet no matter how different it is, no matter what shape or form that has condensed in our mind, we all know what Thick Heavy Clouds look like. A lot like when we hear the word music, we all have a different sound that plays in our ears. A different melody, a different beat, but it’s all music.
With music, when we meet people who have a similar tastes we sometimes already feel connected to them. That connection can then be developed for a foundation for friendship. That is the type of music Thick Heavy Clouds strives to create. To create songs that highlight the various emotions we feel in life. Songs that remind people that we are always connected because we all share a human experience.

Bruce’s quote is the philosophy Thick Heavy Clouds creates with. As a musician, Casey innately follows his curiosity to explore different instruments, themes and techniques of sound. Although his musical expression reflects a wide range, whether it’s an intimate acoustic setting or full-scale production, he consistently creates a trance-like stream of consciousness. All unified by vocals that blend between harmonic melody and spoken word, a vocal that has only been described as uniquely as a fingerprint.
