The Wyldz

Power trio the Wyldz specialize in bluesy, groove-based neo-classic rock inspired by heroes such as Led Zeppelin and Jimi Hendrix , building their riff-heavy anthems from lengthy jam sessions. The band formed in 2010 when bassist/vocalist Mitch Bassoul, guitarist Alex Dhee, and drummer Oliv Porrini met at a music school in Paris. Bonding over a mutual love of ’60s and ’70s hard rock, they formed the Wyldz (initially known as the Wild Child ) in order to realize their rock & roll dreams. The group released two self-produced albums (2011’s Let the Child Go Wild and 2012’s The Big Machine, Pt. 1) in France before moving to Austin, Texas in 2013. The Wyldz’s American debut album, 2013’s Human Rise, was recorded at Arlyn Studios in Austin, and produced by Gordie Johnson. Two years later, after constant touring across the country, the group traveled to Chicago to record an album with Steve Albini . Interstellar Troubadours was released in May of 2015. ~ Paul Simpson, Rovi
