Austin, TX .- Multinational band, SATALiGHTS, are excited to announce the release of their new single and music video Sirenas. This new hit will be available on all streaming platforms on august 16th 2023. This feature is the first single of their upcoming album ‘’Veluga’’ which is set to be released November 7th of this year.
The song is a departure from their usual shoegaze/alt rock style. It revisits a culture very near and dear to Mexican members Alex Scott (lead guitar/vocals), and Rudy Rivera (guitar/synth).
Sirenas combines the beat of traditional cumbia with more contemporary elements, such as synths and electronic music. It’s magically dark lyrics speak of Alex’s ashes floating around Latin America being carried by mermaids after his time of passing. This song also reminisces one of the most sacred traditions of Mexican culture –Día de Los Muertos, while accepting death as a natural part of life, and having fun in the process too.
The music video follows a very peculiar character as he dances through the streets of Austin and makes a few friends along the way. Its bright colors and fun sounds will make you want to watch it again and again. The video is directed by the award winning Austin Artist and music video director: TVHEAD ATX.
SATALiGHTS are a band formed by Alex Scott (Guitar/Vocals) and Mark Romano (Drums) in 2013 in Austin, TX. Rudy Rivera ( Guitar ) and Joseph Gardner (Bass) Joined the band in 2018.
