Wesley Roland (Quest95) is an upcoming artist from a small town in rural Mississippi, a state built on music. There, he learned the power of music through playing the trumpet, other instruments, and later writing poetry to let out the feelings he couldn’t mention to anyone. After high school, he attended college at The University of Mississippi, where he met his friends who started the “Corner Store Collective.” Together, they explored their talents and refined their styles until 2020, when he fell out of love with the art. This feeling haunted him until 40 nights of a reoccurring dream pushed him to write his first complete song. An avid lover of music, Quest gleans inspiration from Frank Ocean, $uicideboy$, Teezo Touchdown, love, loss, the smell of gunpowder, and everything that makes life beautiful. His freshman project, “Nothing but Flowers”, sports his unique versatility telling the story of how nothing stays perfect forever. There have to be peaks and valleys — and sometimes those lows will knock you to the ground.
