The 90’s are back, but there’s only one newcomer carrying the power-pop/jangle-rock torch to the next generation. His name is Little Dan, and he grabs the lost-but-not-forgotten sounds of late century post-grunge alterna-radio, and laces it with Y2K emo- angst. “It’s the 90’s without all the Diet Coke.”, the artist says from his south Austin apartment. “I grew up loving pop but was obsessed with playing rock on guitar. I’ve always had anxiety, but I’ve always been a people person. I’m a weird mix, but I guess the juxtaposition is what drives my sound. I’m either patting myself on the back or kicking myself in the nuts.”
The debut EP, “Enemies Or Lovers” captures the rollercoaster of emotions and highlights the vulnerabilities of being young and drunk-in-love. Produced by Grammy nominee, Chris “Frenchie” Smith (Fastball, The Front Bottoms, Jet) this EP is full of grungy guitars being supported by the magic of glitter. “Dan is an absolutely stellar artist.” Frenchie says. “He goes from uncomfortably intimate, to huge manic explosions. Lyrically, he says what we all think but aren’t brave enough to say. I’m really proud of the album we’ve made together, and can’t wait for the rest of the world to hear it.”
