Rita Ortiz, known as La Golondrina, is a singer-songerwriter and poet based in South Texas. From Eagle Pass, La Golondrina is also the frontwoman for San Antonio band, The Velvet Hues. Her solo work reflects her roots in Latin music, particularly Mariachi as it is the focus of her most recent work. Her second studio EP, a compilation of her original Mariachi compositions and classic favorites, is slated for release early 2024.
