Jomo and the Possum Posse

Best known for the wildly popular viral video series, “Guy On A Buffalo,” Jomo & The Possum Posse have made a name for themselves with their unique blend of cynicism, dead-eyed soul and anti-machismo honky-tonk. Their cult video series has surpassed 25 million views, garnering national attention from a slew of major media outlets.

The band is led by Jomo Edwards, who’s award-wining lyrics tend to skate the line between the sardonic and the arcane. The Possum Posse has also made a name as one of the most talented and cerebrally entertaining live acts around.

The Possum Posse ‘s third album, Take a Number, Satan will be released on Nov 22nd, 2019 on CD, vinyl and digital. The album explores themes of bad luck and bad decisions, technology and temptation, confusion and crude oil, and the permanence of death and styrofoam.

The 10 tracks on Take a Number, Satan highlight Edwards’ signature sharp-witted lyrics and irony-laced storytelling. Musically, it boasts a fresh and modern sound, while keeping a toe in the water of Texas roots music, with western swing, rockabilly, and Americana influences. Most of all, the album is a fun romp; and a glimpse into the band’s relentless energy.

“We’re excited with the way the album turned out. It’s so hard to turn what you hear in your head into recorded music, but I feel like we nailed it. We also took a fine-toothed comb to the arrangements, which made the songs really groove and put more focus on the lyrics.”
