je’Texas is an American rock band formed in Austin in 2020 with vocalist/guitarist Dylan Bishop, drummer Damien LLanes and bassist Gian Ortiz. je’Texas attention to story, melody/harmony, tone with lasting, pronounced, enjoyable rhythms might be reminiscent of music made circa 1969. See “Miss May”, their second song on their upcoming self-titled debut album, “je’Texas”set for early January. Or see “California Sun” their first release set for early October. All recorded on analog equipment circa/a la 1969.
Influenced by a wide range of genres (folk, blues, electric blues, country and western, funk, big band, classic rock, early rock and roll…)and at times with nods to Elvis Presley, Bill Haley and the Comets, the Coasters, the Beatles, Canned Heat, Diana Ross and the Supremes, their live show has been requested at many venues throughout austin and surrounding areas. Some people call it a trip, journey or ride and thank je’Texas at the end for it. But all it is, some rolling rhythm, melodic bass made into a harmonious bush of indigenous je’Texan wildflowers. Some sweet lines of poetry put to melody by a soulful voice, with sophisticated, snarly guitar work and riffs, floating over the wildflowers like the flight of the monarch.
