Haedrons

Haedrons is an exploratory genre-fluid project led by Texas / Oregon-based instrumentalist, Josh Vincent, and elevated by a growing cadre of talented collaborators. Operating without stylistic constraints and offering what Vincent calls “musical obscurantism for the omnivorous listener,” Haedrons’ output naturally covers a lot of territory.

To-date they have traversed heavy, angular avant rock, dark folk interpretations of medieval music, minimalist ambient guitar improvisations, sun-worshipping psychedelia, dreamy lo-fi dirges, and several ambitious thrash metal and jazz tributes. Despite this anarchic purview, Haedrons aims to present something cohesive through their consistently intricate compositions, dense instrumental layering, and an attitude that remains recognizable even as the music oscillates between styles.

Their latest effort, Palimpseste, marks a fresh expansion of Haedrons’ collective cast, featuring skillful contributions from drummer, Jeff Gonzales, saxophonist, Joel McMinn-Reyna, and a monolithic cover by graphic artist / occult semiotician, Helvetica Blanc.

If you are an adventurous audiophile, or perhaps a fringe musician who enjoys fringe music made by other fringe musicians…Haedrons has something for you.
