Arriving in Austin in early 2016, Elliot wasted no time diving into the local scene. He released his “Convalescent EP” under the name Many Voices, and hopped on a national tour playing guitar with Austin Chronicle’s 2016 “Best Band”, Calliope Musicals in the fall of 2017. After recording for Calliope Musicals’ 2019 release, “Color/Sweat”, Elliot joined up with the soul outfit, Slow Cooked feat. Courtney Santana and became a frequent collaborator with Austin’s R&B powerhouse, Honey Made.
In 2020, when the pandemic disrupted a very busy SXSW, Elliot turned to his own writing for the first time in years. This period of introspection culminated in the first Elliot.wavs EP, “i’m not scared now”. The record is a vocal tour de force, in which Elliot’s gospel and R&B influence take full flight, supported by swelling choirs and soulful harmonies. The EP features Austin legends Stuart Sullivan (engineer, Sublime, Willie Nelson), Brannen Temple (drums, Gary Clark Jr.) and Red Young (organ, Dolly Parton).
