Through several years of perfecting Patrick’s hair (“Too short! Too long!”), Emily and Patrick talked about a lot of things at various hair salons across Austin, Texas but mostly music.
Patrick and Emily have contrasting tastes, so they were all over the place… Queens of the Stone Age, The Walkmen, Fugazi, Blondie, A Perfect Circle, The Cranberries?
Eventually they discovered that they both wanted to make music. Emily could sing and Patrick wanted to do – of course – all the other stuff.
“I want to record some original songs,” said Patrick.
“Those are cool, but let’s start with a cover,” replied Emily.
Patrick started a playlist with a few cover ideas. Emily added some more that would work with her voice. They picked Sir Chloe’s Animal because the guitar sounded “easiest” to Patrick and was a good place for Emily to lett’r rip on vocals.
And there you have it – CRIMELESS, a compliment of opposites. It’s almost a crime, but not quite. We hope you like the results.
