Born in New Jersey, Chuck Shaw capped several years of studying poetry and playing gigs in the shadows of the Rockies, doing ranch work in Wyoming and perfecting his performing chops in Nashville honky-tonks before settling in Texas, his true spiritual home. These travels nourish the connection he has always felt to the Lone Star State’s unique strain of country music. On his self-titled debut album Shaw assembles these pieces, from the passion of Springsteen to the plain-spoken poetry of Hank Williams, and establishes himself as an artist with a respect for tradition and a voice that will resonate for years to come.
